If the menu still does not recognize your controller when attempting to change the inputs, try closing or disabling any external input programs such as Steam Input and vJoy as they sometimes interfere with the game's controller recognition. After starting the game, navigate to the Settings menu with the keyboard and select "Control Settings.", then in the controls menu, select "Device" until the device name matches the controller you want to configure.
